Seniors today are striving to remain vital, connected members of the community despite the hardships they face. They are
living longer on less money so your help is more important now than ever. The average monthly income for a senior in San
Diego is just over $800, far below the federal poverty level of nearly $2,000.
Senior Community Centers is the safety net these seniors look to in times of need. We focus our services in the three areas
that can have the biggest impact on a senior’s overall wellbeing: meals, health and wellness, and homes.
Each area is as important as the others and can be compared to a three-legged stool. When one is out of balance, the others
can’t carry the load. We strive to provide all the resources low-income seniors need to live healthy, satisfying and independent
lives.
