This National Senior Center Month, we’re proud to recognize our two senior centers: the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center in Downtown, and the Judith L. Seltz Senior Wellness Center in Clairemont.
Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center
When we think about senior centers, we often think of congregate lunches, bingo, and socialization. However, Serving Seniors’ Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center was built on the idea that a senior center can be so much more.
The Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center provides a comprehensive array of services: breakfast and lunch, enrichment activities, access to case managers who can help with housing and navigating their entitlement benefits, access to health educators who can help them with any health-related issues, and referrals to community services available for seniors, and a dental clinic – all under one roof.
This year, the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center celebrated its 15-year anniversary!
All of the services and meals are provided at no cost to seniors 60 and over.

Judith L. Seltz Senior Wellness Center
The Judith L. Seltz Senior Wellness Center opened this year, modeled after the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center.
The Judith L. Seltz Senior Wellness Center provides health services, workshops and classes, case management, and social activities. This center shares a building with the Paul Downey Senior Residence.
This facility is open daily, includes a game room and computer area.
Beginning in late September, Serving Seniors will prepare meals daily, including to-go lunches. The congregate dining site will be open to the public for lunch Monday through Friday.
