President & CEO
Paul Downey became President & CEO of Serving Seniors in 1995, after volunteering for the organization for nearly ten years.
Since becoming President & CEO Paul has steadfastly guided Serving Seniors’ innovative efforts to keep low-income seniors healthy and independent. In addition to building and operating a 200-unit, low-income, senior housing complex called Potiker Family Senior Residence in downtown San Diego and a 150-unit affordable housing complex for seniors in City Heights, Paul has overseen the agency’s wrap-around wellness services, nutrition program, public relations and advocacy efforts. Chief Operating Officer
Melinda manages all business models and program evaluation to drive business performance throughout the organization. She analyzes outcomes of various programs for operational and program planning and works with each department to improve business processes and increase efficiency. Melinda also oversees all of the IT, data and technological projects within the organization.
Chief Financial Officer
Sue oversees the financial management of the organization including grant compliance, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, payroll, banking, internal controls, budgeting, cost allocation, general accounting, and investments. She is also responsible for the strategic analysis of current and potential agency operations from a financial perspective. Sue has more than 20 years of nonprofit financial and executive management expertise.
Vice President of Philanthropy
Edith provides leadership and overall strategic direction for the agency’s philanthropic programs and initiatives, as well as oversight of public relations, marketing and communications. Edith brings 25+ years of experience as a consummate philanthropy professional and a dedicated nonprofit executive.
Vice President of Operations
Giselle oversees the agency’s human resources, operations, nutrition, and social ventures. She is responsible for strategic plan that ensures that compensation, professional development, retention are all aligned with the company's strategic objectives and goals. Giselle has 20 years of progressively responsible management experience, her focus is on employee growth and development of the organization.
Vice President of Health & Social Services
Jennifer is responsible for the integration of social work, nursing, dental, and wellness services. She also provides clinical direction and supervision to program staff and supports the growth of programs and services through collaborative community partnerships in a community-based setting that emphasizes a “whole-person” care approach.
