California is in the process of revising its state budget. Lawmakers must pass a balanced budget by June 15th while also reconciling an estimated $54.3 billion deficit created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Regrettably, the budget currently proposed by the Governor calls for significant cuts that disproportionately affect low-income older adults. The programs affected are actually the solutions our state needs to keep older adults safe during the pandemic and stable during the anticipated recession.
