Breaking Ground on New Affordable Housing
June 10, 2020
Affordable housing is dire in San Diego! That's why we are excited to share groundbreaking news that new housing communities are coming soon! We are pleased to announce Mid-City Family Apartments and Mid-City Senior Apartments will be built in the City Heights neighborhood at the corner of Fairmont Ave. and El Cajon Blvd. The residences will open 195 units for seniors and low-income families. The community will also feature a terrace, courtyard, and garden for common areas.
“We think that City Heights is the absolute perfect location for this intergenerational project,” explained Paul Downey, Serving Seniors President & CEO. “There’s access to shopping, there’s access to parks, there’s libraries. All of the amenities are within walking distance or a short bus ride.”
Serving Seniors will also provide onsite supportive housing services to community members. This includes activities, case management, and access to meals two blocks away at Potiker City Heights Residence, another Serving Seniors’ affordable housing community.
The project is scheduled to open in mid-2022. Approximately six months prior to the completion, prospective residents can register their interest at https://www.conam.com.
We are partnering with Chelsea Investment Corp. and Price Philanthropies with support from the County of San Diego, San Diego Housing Commission, US Bank, and Citibank.
