Harris Family Senior Residence is in the final stage of construction and is tentatively scheduled to open in late summer 2022. The project is a 100% affordable housing development featuring 78 family units and 117 senior units.

Located in City Heights at Fairmount Avenue and El Cajon Boulevard, the complex includes a total of 195 one-bedroom units for seniors and low-income families. Residents will have access to onsite activities and case management and can receive no-cost senior meals two blocks away at Potiker City Heights Residence, another Serving Seniors' affordable housing community. 

Prospective residents age 62 and over interested in affordable housing units at the new Serving Seniors Residence located in City Heights can now apply for residency in the housing complex.

Breaking Ground

June 10, 2020

Affordable housing is dire in San Diego! In June 2020, we broke ground for construction on a new affordable housing communities! The Serving Seniors Residence will be built in the City Heights neighborhood at the corner of Fairmont Ave. and El Cajon Blvd. The residences will open 195 units for seniors and low-income families. The community will also feature a terrace, courtyard, and garden for common areas.  

Serving Seniors is partnering with Chelsea Investment Corp. and Price Philanthropies with support from the County of San Diego, San Diego Housing Commission, US Bank, and Citibank.
